(RTTNews) - Australia's 2006-07 wine production fell by 978 thousand liters or 31.8 percent on year, according to data released Tuesday by the Australian Bureau of Statistics.
For the same period, the agency said the amount of grapes crushed for wine was lower by 504,000 tons or 26.5 percent.
The bureau said domestic sales of Australian wines for the year came to 449.2 million liters, an increase of 3.9 percent from the previous year.
Australian wine exports drew by 787.2 million liters for the year, an increase of 9.0 percent over the previous year.
The average price per liter for Australian wine fell 4.2 percent for the year. |
