According to the latest statistics, China's imports of bottled wine kept on increasing in 2007. In 2007, China's imports of wine were 54 million bottles/750ml, up 125% over that of 2006, hitting the highest record of history. Compared with 2006, the imports of 2007 accelerated to increase. Imported wine in Chinese market shares (turnover) increased from 6.6% of 2006 to 10%. The related expert predicted that the market share of imported wine would increase to 18% in 2008.
The latest statistics showed that the top ten countries of importing wine to China were France, Australia, Italy, Spain, Chile, America, German, Argentina, Portugal and South Africa. The ranking of Amrica, Portugal and South Africa declined while Chile and Argentina raise.
In 2007, the ranking of increase of imports of bottled wine to China from high to low were Italy, France, Chile, Australia, Spain, Argentina, German and America. With a market share of 37% by volume which increased comparing to that of 2006, France enjoys a privileged position in China. |
