Chinese wine sales will reach top ten in the world

In 2006, Chinese wine industry was in the period of steady development. In 2006, the  total output of wine was 495.1 thousand kiloliters in volume, up 14.1%  compared with 434 thousand tons of 2005. Sales income reached 12.952 billion yuan, up 25.04% over that of the same period. The total profit was 1.353 billion yuan, up 19.60% over that of the same period. The first three seasons of 2007, Chinese wine industry kept on fast developing with the profit of 850 million yuan, up 33.83% over that of the same period. The related expert predicted that output and consumption of Chinese wine would keep the tempo.


It's also predicted that Chinese wine consumption would be increased by 70% ranging from 2006 to 2011. By the end of 2012, China wil be hopeful to exceed Romania and Russia to be the eighth biggest consumption coutry in the world.


In 2008, the new wine standard is forced to be implemented which will improve the internationalized process of Chinese wine.
