Jorge Beker, the president of Supermarket Association of Latin Ameirca told Uruguayan newspaper that they had negotiated with several Chinese wine companies. At present, one of the  Chinese wineries indicated that they would be willing to purchase 8 million liters of Uruguayan red wine in bulk and canned in China and labelled their own brands.

He also said that Chilean wine was competitive in Chinese red wine market. Chilean enterprises wil be easier to enter Chinese market because it signed up a free-trade agreeement with China.
