The statistics from Ningbo Customs showed that Ningbo's imports of wine were 902 thousand lliters in volume and 2.585 million dollars by value in the first quarter, separately up 1.2 times and 94.6%. The average price of imports was $2.9/per liter, down 10.4%.

It's 616 thousand liters of imported wine were re-exported from bonded ares, up 20 times, accounting for 68.3% of the total imports of the same period.The main imported variety was wine in small packing. Imported wine in the 2-liter vessel or even small vessel were 803 thousand liters, up 1.4 times, accounting for 89% of the total imports. Ningbo's imports of wine from Italy were 543 thousand liters, up 4.2 times, accounting for 60.2% of the total imports. And its imports from Roumania were 213 thousand liters, up 20.7 times, accounting for 23.6% of the total imports.

It's said that there were several reasons for wine imports to increase dramatically. First, it's the period for our country to "foster" wine industry.And our country's wine market is potential. Second, with the reduce of tax, the cost of imports was also cut. Third, because of the growth of foreign countries' output, foreign governments stirred the exports by favourable deals.
