On April 24, Everyday Bordeaux Wines was held in Shanghai. CIVB showed that the development of Chinese market was the focus of Bordeaux. In 8 years, Bordeaux's wine exports to China increased 21 times.
In 2007, the total sales of Bordeaux wines in the world were 570 million liters in volume and 3.4 billion euros in value, up 1.3% and 4% compared with the same period of 2006. After slow growth for two years, Bordeaux's wine exports increased fast in 2007. In 2007, its exports were 194 million liters, accounting for 33% of the total sales, up 7% compared with 2006. And its sales were 13.9 billion euros, up 9% over 2006. Asia is still extremely active with significant increases for Bordeaux wines, particularly in China, which recorded a 158% upsurge in value and a rise in volume of 82%, between 2006 and 2007. In 2007, Bordeaux's wine exports to China were from 200 thousand liters to 4.3 million liters. In 8 years, Bordeaux's wine exports to China increased 21 times. |
