Hong Kong's trade development body expects the Asian wine market to expand by 10-20 per cent over the next five years.

A business forum has been told that wine consumption value in Asia (excluding Japan) was expected to double over the next five years, with growth led by China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore and Korea.

Projected wine imports would total US$1.5 billion by 2017.

The first International Wine Expo will be from August 14th in Hong Kong, where close to 80 per cent of wine consumption is red.
