China's wine consumption was number one in Asia

The fifth Vinexpo released the result of research on May 27. It showed that Chinese Mainland's wine consumption was number one in Asia. It' s predicted that Chinese Mainland's consumption will reach number 8 from number 10 in the world by 2011.

The research was conducted by Vinexpo and IWSR. The result of the research also showed that the total consumption of wine in Asia was 79.3% from 2002 to 2011. Chinese Mainland was number one in Asia while Japanese consumption value of wine was number one in Asia. Chinese Mainland was one of the markets that wine consumption had a fastest increase in Asia. It's predicted that Chinese Mainland's wine consumption will increase 69.2% from 2006 to 2011.

According to the research, the annual global consumption of wine was 30.7 billion bottles. France and Italy were number one and number two in the world.
