Macao's duty-free for wines which are low in alcohol
www.wines-info.com by Wing 2008-8-27 11:38:14

Macao SAR Government released that the imported ad valorem tariff and specific tax would be zero for alcoholic liquor which contained less than 30% alcohol (by volume). It took in effect in August 26.

Dealers and wholesalers usually have storages for one to three months, so the reflection of duty-free will be seen after 3 months.

Liang Yingxiu pointed that Macao lost 30% wine business since Hong Kong removed the tax of wine. Macao's duty-free will attract more such liquors to Macao market. And it's also good for Macao's catering trade and tourism. In addition, the prices of wines will reduce about 10%.
