2009 China International Wine & Spirits Exhibition will be held on March 2009

2009 China International Wine & Spirits Exhibition will be held from March 15th to 17th 2009 in Beijing China World Trade Center, will offer one favorable and professional business site to spread wine culture and knowledge, to taste different wine, to train more and more importers and lovers and to handle some wine marketing activities in Chinese wine market. Wine China Exhibition is the great appointment for meeting and doing business with importers, wholesalers, dealers, agents and consumers. In step with the above topical concepts, Wine China Exhibition will fully help wine companies and exporters to achieve their goals and share the huge potential market - China, in the same time, will also insist in promoting the influence of wine producing countries.


Though from 1996 to 2007 the average proportion of wine import in China is about 70%, but since 2000 to 2007 the average proportion is about 20% that keeps the stable rise. According to this 20% proportion, till 2010 the wine import will reach 250,000 tons.

The above is the import data from top 10 countries from 2005 to 2007 for your reference, and besides the above countries the import wine are also from the following countries, i.e., New Zealand, Bulgaria, Greece, Luxemburg, Hungary, Czech, Moldova, UK, Israel, Canada, Algeria, Austria, Ukraine, Rumania, Georgia, Slovenia, Cuba, Serbia, Sweden, Peru, Switzerland, Paraguay, Mexico, Cyprus, Belgium and so on.

From the above graph about the official data about Chinese wine industry, in 2007 China produced 650,000 tons wine. Since 1996 China keeps nearly the 13% proportion increase of wine yield and until 2010 Chinese wine yield reach 960,000 tons.


In a word, in 2010 it is the forecasting that the total amount of wine consumption in China will reach about 1,200,000 tons. Therefore there will be huge growth potential for this market.


Why in Beijing
At present, Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen and Guangzhou are the major cities for wine consumption. Average growth rate is more than 35%. Beijing is the only city that has a winery that could produce fine wine and it has the highest growth potential among those cities. There is a base of growing vine with 1,300 hectares planting area in Beijing, and it could produce 21 million Kg grapes annually. It becomes a core market for wine consumption in inland China. 2008 Olympic Game has successfully held and has attracted a large amount of foreigners and has enhanced culture communication between Chinese people and foreigners, including wine culture. In Beijing there are about 2000 restaurants, which of them are 37 Italian restaurants, 23 French restaurants, 29 European restaurants, 7 Germany restaurants, 3 Spanish restaurants, 5 Greek restaurants and 700 star hotels. The favorable position of China World Trade Center (CWTC), occupies a prime location in the heart of Beijing's Central Business District. CWTC is a mere 20-minute drive away from Capital International Airport. China World Trade Center is very near Tian An Men Square that is China's biggest and authoritative square. Some famous 4-star and 5-star hotels, restaurants, superior business office buildings, fashion and top brands stores are near China World Trade Center, and nearly each countries' embassies and some famous bars and western restaurants are near China World Trade Center, and even the branches of some 500 world's biggest enterprises are near China World Trade Center. Nearly all of foreign visitors and businessmen visit it.
