Shanghai's wine imports of 2008 were about 140 million dollars

In recent four years, the imports of bottled wines kept on increasing. According to the customs' statistics, China's gross import of bottled wines was 264 million USD in 2008, up 43.48% (80 million USD) over that of 2007 (184 million USD), up 243% over that of 2006 (77 million USD), up more than 10 times over that of 2004 (25 million USD).


In 2008, Shanghai's wine imports were 140 million by value, accounting for 53% of China's gross import. Shanghai became the biggest port of importing wine.
