Languedoc Roussillon is the biggest area of planting grapes. It has vineyards of 0.29 million hectares. In summer, it's hot and dry. In Spring and Autumn, it has a very mild climate. Annual year, about 300 days have sunshine. It's the only appointed region that can't add sugar in fermentation process. In addition, it has more than 27 varieties of grapes.

On March 20, "2008 new wine festival of Southern France" was held by CIVL and Southern France in Shanghai. There were nearly 40 varieties of wines from 12 AOC wine producing areas in the new wine festival.
