SIAL 2009 opens in Shanghai

From May 19th to 21st, the 10th edition of the biggest international food, beverage and hospitality trade show in Mainland China will open at Shanghai New International Exhibition Centre.

During the past edition, SIAL China reports a record of 27,718 visitors who came to discover the latest products and meet new suppliers at the Chinese Food Marketplace (an increase of 24% compared to 2007). 12% of them crossed the oceans to meet 1,100 exhibitors from 58 countries and regions (Spain, France, South Africa, USA, Italy, Mexico, Chile, Argentina, South Africa, Thailand, Malaysia, Taiwan region …)

As the unique food, beverage and hospitality exhibition, SIAL China present 50% of domestic products and 50% of international products: a unique business platform for visitors and exhibitors.

During 3 days, SIAL China is going to vibrate with the Mexican rhythm, due to the animations organized by Mexico, 2009 country of honor.

SIAL China, the Wine and Spirits booster in Mainland China

SIAL China is also the number 1 international Wine and Spirits trade show in Mainland China. Wine competition, tasting, conferences and wine equipped booths are offered to exhibitors to present their products to experts and lovers. For the 2008 edition, more than 18% of the exhibitors in the Wine & Spirits business came to showcase the latest flavors. New in 2009 You are a wine lover but you want to be a wine expert, come to visit our new zone: the W.I.F – Wine Innovation Forum.
Free tasting area (classified by main grapes around the world), a display of 30 top wine brands in the World and conferences about success stories of these brands will take place in the W.I.F to permit you to become a wine specialist in 3 days.

Cooking Trends Area
After a successful 1st edition (4,435 professionals from hotels & restaurants came to discover the Cooking Trends Area); in partnership with Escoffier China, the 2nd  edition will propose more original culinary demonstrations, more international chefs, more ingredients provided by exhibitors and more challenge with the final of the Young Asian Chef Contest. 

The Wine & Spirits events
The 10th China Wine & Spirits Competition, the Wine & Spirits Tasting Room, the Wine Innovation Forum and the International Wine and Spirits Dinner permit to highlight the actors of this highest potential sector in China.

OlivAsia
In 2009, for the 5th edition, the visitors will find a delight in discovering the winners of the Olive oil area.

Trends and Innovations
New and innovation are some of the criteria to be present in this international showcase at the entrance of the exhibition show. Since 5 years, the Trends and Innovations competition has been dedicated to offering SIAL China exhibitors the possibility to introduce their latest technologies in the food and beverage fields.

Packtech – Foodtech, the international exhibition for food processing and packaging, will neighbor on SIAL China. The perfect synergy between these two exhibitions will offer to visitors a wide panel of the international food and beverage market from equipment to product.
