www.apn.btbtravel.com by 2009-05-22

Korean Air's first and business class passengers to the Americas, Europe, Southeast Asia and Oceania are now able to enjoy one of the finest champagnes available -- specially-selected Laurent Perrier -- throughout their flight.

Grand Siècle, the champagne poured on France's presidential flights, is now being served in Korean Air's first class cabin to and from America and Europe. Laurent Perrier's best selling rosé champagne, Cuvée Rosé Brut is available in first class on Southeast Asia and Oceania routes. Korean Air is the only airline in the world to serve Cuvée Rosé Brut. Business class pours Laurent Perrier's Brut L-P on all routes.

"Laurent Perrier is one of the world's most esteemed champagne brands with nearly 200 years of tradition. Being able to serve these champagnes on-board will greatly enhance our level of service and we hope to fulfill our customer's high expectations with this service," said Heather Cho, Korean Air's managing vice president and head of catering and in-flight sales.

Stéphane Tsassis, CEO of Champagne Laurent- Perrier said "I have been always very much impressed by all the details that Korean Air put in very details," adding that "very much like Korean Air, Laurent Perrier is strongly dedicated to excellence," and that "Laurent Perrier Champagne is very honoured that Korean Air wine selection team has awarded three of our Cuvées."

Korean Air currently serves 42 wines from 11 different countries on-board, and has been praised repeatedly by Business Traveler magazine's Cellars in the Sky awards for exceptional wine offerings.

About the wines

Grand Siècle: In the 17th Century, during the reign of Louis XIV, France enjoyed its most illustrious era which became known as the Grand Siècle - the "Great Century". Named after this era, Grand Siècle is a blend of pinot noir and chardonnay, with the latter being slightly dominant. Its aroma subtly hints of honey, hazelnuts, grilled almonds and fresh pastry.

Cuvée Rosé Brut: Like the airline, this rosé wine was born 40 years ago. Salmon-pink in color, it has hints of soft red fruits, such as strawberries, red currants, raspberries and black cherries

Brut L-P: Brut L-P is the standard-bearer for the house style of Laurent-Perrier, produced since its beginning in 1812. Pale gold in color with fine and persistent bubbles, its aroma is delicate and fresh with good complexity and notes of citrus and fruit.
