2009 International Wine and Spirits Forum Opens in Shanghai
www.businesswire.com by 2009-08-28

The global financial meltdown has taken a toll on the wine industry. While the world is in recession, the wine industry in China shows some signs of optimism. Though many economies all over the world are shrinking, Chinese GDP will likely grow 7% to 9% this year. China will also be the first country to pull out of the crisis. In the foreseeable future, the wine production of China will fall short of its robust demand. The changing of wine productions and consumption around the globe prompts more and more wine producing countries to pay attention to China's market. There are huge opportunities of exporting wine to China.

2009 International Wine and Spirits Forum is held in Shanghai. It is organized by CBI and China National Association for Liquor and Spirits Circulation. This forum is designed to be a high-caliber event where decision makers of wineries, wine trading firms, dealers, and retailers from all over the world get together to showcase their wines, find business opportunities, and share experiences. The wine tasting session will be attended by prominent figures of the wine industry.

The forum invites authorities such as Sopexa, Australian Wine & Brandy Corporation (AWBC), Italian Wine Alliance (IWA), Wine Institute of California, etc. More than 100 traders and retailers are expected to participate in this event.
