www.wines-info.com by Wing 2009-09-21

From 2005 to 2008, 2-plus imported wines were two times than less 2 liter/bottle ones. However, from July of 2008 to June of 2009, imported wines(less 2 liters/bottle) and 2-plus liters were 70593 tons, up 34% and 73735 tons, down 23.5%. China nearly imported equal two types of wines.

The experts analyzed the factors of that. China domestic wine enterprises enlarged their purchase of local materials. It's said that Chang Yu, Great Wall and Dynasty wine giants enlarged their grape planting areas in China. The Deputy General Manager of Dynasty said that their materials were mainly form Ningxia region. In addition, Chang Yu and Dynasty reported that financial crisis suppressed the increase of wine consumption in the first half of the year.
