China's total value of imported wines hits new peak again in 2009

According to the statistics from Maritime Customs Administration, not including HK, Macao and Taiwan, China's total volume of imported wines was 171,231,332 liters,equaling to 228308443 bottles of wine(750 ml/bottle) in 2009, up 4.93% than that of 2008. Bottled wines (less than 2 liters per bottle) were 91034460 liters, up 58.31% over 2008. And bulk wines (more than 2 liters per bottle) were 80196872 liters, down 24.11% compared with that of 2008. The total value of imported wines was 441697229 U.S.dollars, up 22.91% over 2008.

The statistics showed that bottled wines kept on a high increase over the past consecutive years.But the imports of bulk wines had a sharp drop after hiting peaks for three years. It's the first time that the imports of bottled wines excessed that of bulk wines in recent 10 years.

In addition, the imports of brandy were 14352892 liters in volume and 411388619 U.S.dollars by value in 2009.
