Wine For Asia 2006 - Asia’s most comprehensive international wine exhibition - will return for its fourth edition in Singapore from 2nd to 4th November 2006.
Over 450 exhibitors from 23 countries will spend 3 days wheeling and dealing with key buyers, importers and distributors, retail chain owners, F&B purchasing directors and wine enthusiasts from across Asia. A total of 15,000 visitors are expected to visit this all important event, including VIP Buyer delegations from Korea, China, Malaysia, Vietnam, Thailand, Hong Kong, India to name a few.
According to Wine Importer Asia – a leading business publication in Asia - "Wine imports across Asia have experienced an unprecedented growth rate of 17% over the last 3 years and forecasts are for further double digit growth rate up until 2010.”
To date more than 70% of show is booked and space is being snapped up everyday. Participating countries such as Argentina, Australia, France, Italy (with several of their key wine regions like Romagna, Sicily and Tuscany) , New Zealand and South Africa are all increasing the size of their participation. There will also be the 1st ever national pavilion from Hungary! Wine For Asia 2006 also boasts of an increase in the number of endorsements from international trade organizations such as International Enterprise Singapore, Government of South Australia, Austrade, WEPA Romania, Embassy of Romania, Embassy of Austria, US Department of Commerce, New Zealand Wine Growers’ Association, Consejo Federal de Inversiones of Argentina, Camera di Commercio di Forli – Cesena & Camera di Commercio di Rimini from Italy, Malaysia Hotel Association, Korea Wines and Spirits Importers Association, China Western Food Culture Association, to name a few.
All these are clear indications that Wine For Asia is an All Important Business Platform in the international wine event calendar. Both exhibitors and buyers at this year's event can expect more special activities and features to facilitate business transactions. This will include a brand new business matching system to generate pre-event negotiations, a complete on-site business suite, networking events, market familiarization tours, wine certificate courses, seminars and conferences all ready to be rolled out over the coming months.
For example, our VIP buyers will play host to exhibitors in a "BUYERS-HOST-SELLERS NETWORKING NIGHT" This networking event hosted by buyers for exhibitors provides the perfect backdrop to heightened interaction between buyers and sellers and also provides sellers with better insights into the Asian wine market.
A series of high-profiled industry seminars and lectures are being planned, conducted by industry experts, leading importers and wine professionals from China, Hong Kong, Australia, India, etc presenting insights on marketing know-how and updates on the Asian wine and spirits market. One interesting topic will be "Old World vs New World : Convergence or Divergence" conducted by James Halliday who is considered by many to be the father of the Australian Wine Industry.
Running alongside the exhibition will be a series of wine tasting and guided master tasting such as the Decanter Award Winning Wines 2006, MUNDUSvini, Bordeaux 03 and Wine Style Asia Award Winning Wines 2006 ranking some of the best wines in the world for the Asian palate.
