According to Wang Qi, president of the Wine Branch of China Alcohol Drinks Industry Association, the four brands (Changyu, Great Wall, Dynasty and Weilong) contribute 51.49% of the national output of wine.

On the China West Grape and Wine Industry Development Forum held in Yinchuan several days before, Mr. Wang Qi said that there was a high density of wine production in China. Although there are 26 provinces producing wine, 93.76% of the wines are produced by only ten of them. The ten provinces are Shandong, Hebei, Tianjin, Jilin, Xinjiang, Beijing, Henan, Gansu, Ningxia and Yunnan. 60.71% of the wines are produced by top ten wine companies.

From January to July 2006, the so-called above-scale wine companies achieved a wine production of 250.63 thousands kiloliter, a total assets of 13.749 billion Yuan, a total business revenue of 7.17 billion Yuan and a total profits of 811 million Yuan, which increased respectively by 20.20%, 9.60%, 27.82% and 12.12% on an annual basic.
